SILUTES M. JANKAUS PAGRINDINE MOKYKLA
Å ilutÄ— Martynas Jankus basic school provides the primary and basic education to its students. Our
school is a day school. It’s a comprehensive school, realizing basic and supplementary educational
programs in Lithuanian. Almost 700 students (80% living in the town and 20% from villages) attend
the school. 1-4 students are taught at home each school year because of illnesses. 10 % of students
need social, psychological- pedagogical help. The staff consists of 70 teachers, social worker,
speech therapists, psychologist, librarians, special educator and public health specialist. Students
can freely use the library, reading room, internet, attend variety of clubs after lessons related with
information technologies, languages, drama, sports, handicrafts, music, art and others.Teachers
develop their qualification in various seminars, courses, webinars, projects that are organized in the
town, country or abroad. The staff constantly join republic and international projects. Our school as
an organization has a need to promote cooperation in an international space, improving teaching and
learning methods.
